Default New Badges - No Pins?

Hey guys! I know someone has dealt with this before, but a search did not turn up the info I needed.
I received new chrome badges from IronToad and the only 2 with pins are the back large "L" and the "SC400" (which arrived with one pin broken - arggghh)

The front "L" arrived with no pins. The rear "Lexus" arrived with no pins as well. This is a 93 SC400 and the badges I removed had pins on these spots...

I would prefer the emblems with pins, but is this how Lexus makes the badges universal for all models now? I plan to call IronToad in the AM, but would love some feedback today.

The ones that came with the pins are presently on the car - SWEET.

just out of curiosity, why do you have to have the pins? i just replaced all of my gold emblems w/chrome ones and they also did not come w/ pins. believe me they arent gonna fall off. if you are concerned about placing them on correctly, just use a few small pieces of masking tape to mark the edges of the emblem, before you take the old ones off. then you'll know exactly where to put the new ones. piece of cake.

I was primarily curious if I was sent the correct badges. I wanted to know if others who had replaced their badges were sent emblems without the pins. It confused me even more when 1/2 the emblems came with the pins, matching the originals - and the other 1/2 without. Rear "L" with pins, Front "L" without. I didn't want to open them up and try and use them, only to find out that these emblems were sent by mistake.

It would appear that at least one other person received the "pinless" emblems for replacements. I knew I couldn't be the only person to have this experience.

Thanks for the info.

Mike,

When I replaced my "L's" front and rear, they came with pins. I remember my front had 2 holes for the pins and I think the rear had the 2 holes as well. Not sure why yours didn't come with it

Just to update the boards...

I spoke with Ryan at Irontoad.com this AM and he said that Lexus had indeed changed the part number on some of the badges, specifically the ones without pins. He said that these were the correct parts.

He also was very understanding on the one that arrived with a broken pin ("SC400") He said, "I'll mail you another one, and there's no need to send the old one back - just keep it."

Pretty good service. Nice to know if there's ever a problem.
