Default Allen head size?

Sup guys.

Doing my brakes and I don't have a big enough allen head for the piston so I was wondering what size it is.

It's the four allen head screws on the backside of the brakes, thanks
92 SC400, btw.

those are not the bolts you remove. you remove the 2 17mm bolts that connect the caliper bracket to the hub.

do a search on doing brakes on any stock sc. the procedure is same.

but to pull the piston back to fit the pads. That's what I mean.

you take an old pad and a c-clamp and compress the cylinders back into the caliper.

Well I got the 10mm hex head to compress the piston.

so it's a ten for the hex bolts on the rear side of the caliper

Your makin this way too complicated...like was said..."C" clamps and old pad or a shim and compress...one of simplest jobs you'll do on this car.

yes I would just take a large C clamp and press it down...quick and easy. It is not going to hurt anything if that is what you are concerned about.

Not sure about the Lexus's but a lot of rear calipers require the piston to be wound back in, they cannot be pushed back in with a clamp.

Matt.

we dont have retarded nissans. lexus calipers simply push in. the reason the pistons screw back in on nissans and such because those cars use the rear calipers for hand brake as well. our cars have separate pads for regular brakes and shoes for hand brake.
