I believe that the only version out there made by injen is the short ram version. As long as you leave the stock snorkel in the bumper it acts like a CAI. (funneling the air right to the filter)
hmm thanks unreal- yeah i want to get a injen intake, but teh one im looking to buy doesnt give out the cool whistle sound... idk if i can fix it adn give it teh whistle sound, but first of all, idk what causes the whistle sound
the resonator box near the TB on the stock intake pluming should stop the sound..I had a Fiero GT that made the same sound with an intake..but it was extremely loud and intimidating to other people.
i have a short ram intake on my with a k&n filter so yes it does make that somewhat a turbo sound... my has the sticker with a carb # makes it legit in cali

im not trying to eliminate it as its not really annoying to me but rather cool lol.
but i was trying to figure out what makes the sound

so you have the injen intake kit but swapped the injen cone filter for a k&n cone filter? and where did you get the carb #? haha
my injen short ram makes a whistle sound. thats a good question though - what exactly makes that sound? before i installed the heat shield the sound was louder than after I installed it...
altough you qouted me w/o saying a word about a resonator. the resonators are those baged shaped [its like a paint ball magazine] under neath the intake piping. theres two, one right after the afm and then one right before the throtle body.

i thought the stock snorkle choked more air than it released
do 400 have this and if removed will it give of a cel
cel? as in acceleration? it woulnt give that much if any, it will just make your intake have a drone/sound

hes talking about if you have the injen intake, and you leave the snokle only, it will create a path way for the air/wind leading towards the intake cone. thus making it a CAI
