Ok so heres the deal I just got my 1992 SC400 from the shop and today the radio started making a loud thumping noise from the sub if you turn the volume up the sound gets louder and you start to here some (very little) music. Im not sure how many of you have opened the sun roof on your car and heard loud wind vibrating noise that kills your ears, thats what it sounds like. Please help ( radio, cd, and tape) all the same sound.

sounds the amp is dead

 

try checking the connections to the radio, maybe something loose?
check the rear where the changer is, and see if all the plugs are in. amp may also be bad...
Cant' really help you much there, maybe its time for a new hu... =)

 

Amp might have gotten wet check for water in the rear area happen to my ES300 a 2 years ago
