Default Crankshaft Pulley

When removing the crankshaft pulley for working on the Crankshaft Oil Seal (Front Main Seal) or Timing Belt or Water Pump. Can an impact wrench with 300+ lbs of torque remove that nut? Its torqued at something like 239lbs. It'd be nice to just hit it with that impact wrench and be done with it.

i don't think a 300 ft/lb torque could remove it, it can't even remove the lug nuts on my car. at least a 700+ ft/lb should work. this is the easiest way to do it. place the correct size socket on the crank pulley w/ a torque wrench and lean it against the ground, unplug the external coil plug and crank the engine..walaa! here's quick skectch i made...

should work, maybe hit it with some wd40. if all else fails, crank the line pressure going to your impact wrench, i have an ingersol-rand titanium 3/4 and 1/2 inch impact and with 120 psi runnin through the lines in the shop i can take off any bolt/nut the 1/2 incher is rated at 1000ft/lbs tq at 90 psi... so 120.... oh man it was like 300 bucks

Yeah a couple hits with those crazy high torque/psi wrenches will do the job. Just remember to spray it down with some penetrating lubricant to kind of help break it loose.
