Default Do you guys think this would work?

Since my car is in the shop getting some body work done (shaving antenna, emblems, etc) Ive decided to also have some electrical work done (moving the wiring harness from driver side fender into the engine bay)...My friend suggested I try to do a push start in the SC. Since he had an IS350 that was goin to be salvaged anyway he said i could take parts from it. Do you guys think this would work?

i know theres a TRD starter out there for GS's, IS's..

for either one do you think it would work for our cars??

I have a push start in my car. I just wired the starter and battery both directly to a switch, but I think I should probably put a relay in too. I would like to have something like the IS-F though, where you just carry around a fob. That would be big ballin!

its just a button that engages a relay to give power to your starter wire. people charge 150 bucks for that. man i gotta start a business and make a killing on lexus owning idiots.

that button can work on any car. its just a matter of finding a place to put it.

personally i think its retarded. either have no key and a master kill switch like a race car or have a normal key start. i hate how you have to do it in the s2000's...but to each ricer his own i guess

how do you plan to relocate the chassis harness through the engine bay. ive done it on my car and know how to make it painlessly easy. i just wanna see what you plan to do.

the purpose of a push start is that it send the exact same amount of current to crank the engine everytime so when you push the start button the car cranks on the exact same way everytime. unlike us regular key guys we have to turn the key and sometimes we dont turn it right and the car might not start and we have to hit it again to start

I always get a kick out of people following the latest "Trend" in the auto industry. Especially when the "Trend" is a throwback to a "Trend" from 50-100 years ago.

I don't have any pictures, and I only did it because I couldn't get my ignition to work after my swap. I had to push start the car every time, or run a wire off the starter and touch it to the battery. Basically what i did is I cut off the plug that goes into the starter, and extended it into the cabin and attached one end to a button, then off the other end of the button, ran a wire to the battery. And you do need the key in the ignition....

IS350 huh? You should take his front seats and steering wheel.

Maybe the engine and white license plate lights too.

The harness in the engine bay is a good idea. I did mine before my tires chewed through it. I also had a push start button on my SC but it wasnt by choice. The idea isnt that bad. I mean I would only do it if I had a smart key to go along with it. I had the S2000 style where you would still need to turn a key and then push. Got rid of it!
