Default hey whats up all..please read.

i just recently puchased a 1993 lexus sc300 with 120k miles for 3gs..i thought i had a good buy...i took it to a mcehanic had it check out ...replaced the shocks myself and 300 miles into driving it i go to accelerate on the freeway the and the tranny wont go into overdrive and the to make a long story im ****ed in the middle of nowhere...i check the tranny fluid its all black..unlike i checked it before my drive....now the car wont even engage it just revs up....

tranny?
clutch?
torque converter?

any ideas and if so im in san diego....i dont know anyone in the area ...
anyone know of any spots to get parts or good maechanics?

your info is appericaited

Sounds like it could be the TC or the Tranny solenoids.

Does the OD light flash? If it does, pull the code and see what it is.

welcome. you should put this in the right forum...aka performance(it means most everything power/drivetrain related)

do a search as far as transmission problems. stock transmissions are cheap. if you can do the work yourself as far as swapping it then youre in good shape. rebuilding the stock is usually pricey.

It's probably the TC, since it won't even engage..

bet on the TC if it's just revving. While you're at it check the last time the tranny was flushed. If it's been longer than 80-90K miles then start lookin for a new tranny....
