Rack and pinion

I need to replace my rack and pinion. I wonder if there is a special tool that I need to use to seperate rack and pinion from steering? The screen on solenoid is it posible to buy one. What if the screen is bad with holes, how do you guys fix it?

no special tool needed, the solenoid usually comes with a new rack.....
