Default 1JZ auto start problem

I've pretty much read through all the threads possible about the 1JZ but haven't found my answer yet. Hope someone can shed some light for me. I just put in a Automatic 1JZ into my 97 SC400.

I have the problem that some people have in that when I connect the battery, the engine starts to crank. So I read that most people bypass this using a push button start. I purchased just a simple push button start from Kragen as a temporary solution. I was under the impression that this hooked up to the starter wire underneath the dash. What is wierd is that while testing everything, I had the whole ignition plug disconnected from the ignition, but if I connected the battery, it would still crank over.

So I ran the push start button from the relay wire in the engine. This worked and I can get the engine to start but when the engine starts, it starts to rev right away to redline. Am I connecting the push button wrong?
