Default Speedo gremlin.....PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok, so I thought I figured out my speedo issue (not working).

But I didn't.

Here's the problem:

When the car is in the air, and i put it in gear, the speedomoter works.

As soon as I put it on the ground and drive, the speedometer doesn't move.

The wires are directly wired to the speedometer, so I know they work.

Here's what I did:

I took out the speed sensor, cleaned all the individual parts, put it back together, to the exact same result.

One of my friends recommended me to check the pinion, but everything looked pretty good to me. Why would the speedometer work when the car is in the air, but not on the ground?

No wires are being pinched, and I zip tied all wires out of the way.

If anyone can help me, I'll greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
-Freddy

What is the difference if the car is in the air or on the ground?
Only difference that I can think of is that the suspension and wheels decompress slightly when put in the air since there is no force being applied on the suspension/wheels.

there's also actual load on the engine, and what im thinking is the pinion, which is nylon, is slipping on the tranny gear. Im going to try another good known speed sensor.

I'd like to see what the nylon gear looks like on your speed sensor.

I checked it, and it loked absolutely fine. I couldnt look into the transmission itself because of space issues, but i did feel around a bit with my hands, and it felt pretty sturdy, didn't feel stripped.

I'm willing to bet the nylon gear is just slipping a bit under load. I hope its not an issue with my transmission, i'll look a bit more in depth when i install my new clutch.
