Has anyone seen, or does anyone have just the Vertex lip on their 97+ SC?
I'm not much into full body kits, moreso just lips. I'm just having a hard time finding a pic of an SC with just the Vertex front lip. I've been considering it, but dont know if it will alter the body lines, giving it that snow-plow effect.
I put the vertex lip on the front bumper only and took a look at it, and it sits low. If you do not have the 97 up sides and rear forget it, looks funny. Even with that I suggest getting the Vertex sides and rear, flows with it great. I just bought the cheap knock off kit for the rear and sides, and then spent the $$ on the OEM front bumper and vertex lip. Front bumper full kit is a pain, chips etc, love the 98 stock bumper setup with lip, easy to repair lip and sides and rear are low maint.

97-SC300: Looks great, I noticed everyone and their sister said to get the side skirts, etc, but I think certain side's give the car that jelly-fish/ballroom dress/liberty bell look. Too much flare.
If I were to get some sideskirts they'd almost have to be flush.
thanks man. i dont think i willg et any sides or rear anytime soon. the good thing is you can take the lip off at any time espacially if you drive it in the winter sometimes.
i'm personally debating between a vertex lip and big win... but i'd complete the kit. i think if you're going with just a lip you should consider something smaller maybe?
i like the big win better because it wraps around the lower part of the 97 bumper which looks better than looking just like an extension from the bumper

so does my car look like a jelly-fish/ballroom dress/liberty bell look?
i have to agree with highoncars... you will need to go with soemthing smaller if you get just the lip... I was going to go with just the lip and no kit, that was my vision also. but it just hung a lot lower than I thought. At minimum you need the 97 up sides and rear. I am sure you would agree if you saw a 94 with a vertex lip.
Here is my experience - wanted no kit... so I went with 92 body and 98 front bumper... hung way too low, was told it looked awkward and had to agree... so I went easy and grabbed the vertex knock off kit at a shop I knew for like $200... then the 98 bumper was way too high!!! then went vertex lip and voila, flows great..
i think a member here has just the vertex front lip with the stock 97 sides and rear and made it flow well. his sc was black rollin on 19" gunmetal volks w megan coils... blksc300 might be his sn ??????
i think he installed it higher on the bumper... post pics plz!!!
