Solara Seats in SC
Has anyone tried gen 1 Solara seats in the SC?
I wonder how much lighter the solara seats are...
They appear to have better bolster than the SC seats and can be had alot cheaper than supra seats. However, no idea if they will fit..

That car is a two door Camry, which is smaller than an SC.
Sure, they will fit, but you will have to make them fit. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a lot of space on the sides of the seats.

The Solara is just as big as the SC300/400, in fact its slightly wider than our cars. The only thing I would worry about is that the Solara is about 2 inches taller than our cars, so their seats might be taller too, giving you less headroom. Aside from that, I'm sure the seats will fit, it'll just require some custom mounts since its not a straight swap.

maybe swapping the headrests would help?

this swap would be a waste of time. it is not more comfortable or anymore sporty then the stock sc seats and weight reduction is not justified by the amount of work.
just find a set of mk4 seats and call it a day. i found a guy locally on craiglist that was selling a pair for 200 with iffy condition leater. that would be a better option. reupholster and bolt them in.

Come on, these SC seats have almost Zero bolster, it sure looks like the solara's are better in that respect. I'm not big on the supra seats, I'd rather take the jump to Recaro's, although $200 might change my mind. My 93 'teg has better seats than anything toyota it seems, they have great bolster, even adjustable. My 90 celica had nice bolster too, but kinda wierd alien looking...
