So I recently purchased a 94 SC 400. When I had purchased it or in the process of, starting the car was the biggest issue. Someone had attempted to break into the car on the drivers side with a screw driver leaving it in the forward position. So from now on I cant open the drivers side with my key, only the passenger. That in turn sets off the alarm. I can not start my car, because I dont have the key fob for it. I can start the car after taking off the drivers side door panel and tripping the alarm by sticking a paper clip in the three pronged clip and attaching the power back to the battery.
One of these times I start the car and something doesnt seem right by the way the engine is running. Suddenly the car dropped in RPMs to below 1k and sounded like it was going to die. I quickly shut it off and saw smoke come up from underneath the hood. I opened it and saw the battery terminal connector had melted onto the battery. I replaced that and have yet to be able to start the car since.
I figured I couldnt trip the alarm anymore and the alarm was just preventing me from starting it. I had a best buy auto tech come out to disable this alarm and intall a kelyess viper system to work with the factory alarm.
Long story shorter, he disabled the factory alarm and all the car does is just click when turning the key. I've been going through soooo much frustration with this car, I bought it almost two weeks ago and cant drive it.
Thanks again for taking the time to read all of this as I really appreciate the help.
If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear your ideas.
Thanks,
Derek

Fix the lock and your alarm .The car will not start without the factory alarm without extensive rewiring.
Lead Lap
If he just piggybacked the factory alarm and not completely bypassed it, then the ignition cutoff from the factory will still be in effect. You might have to take it to the stealership or just take a free weekend and start going through everything. Also, get a new lock from the stealership.
An update:
The alarm has been completely disabled.
The locks has full power and everything is fixed there now.
Remaining issue? Upon immediate turn of the key ignition,
it sounds like the starter clicks once (for every time you turn the key)
and that's it. As well as multiple clicks as the car is turned to the ON postition
Battery has 100% full power/charge.
Thanks again, guys!

I'm in the same boat, driver's side key cylinder is broken, could you give a little more info on how to reset the alarm by jumping two wires?Originally Posted by dreamweave

I will say it again. The sc alarm cannot be bypassed without extensive rewiring. So you got the locks to work ...that does not mean the alarm is bypassed. If you do it the right way you will not be guessing on what to do next. When the alarm is activated the only way to turn it off is by sticking the key in the door and disarming it. You cannot do that because you dont have a keyhole. Anyhow you look at it you need to get that fixed ,why hack the wiring when thats all you need to do

Thanks for your input, but dreamweave's method of jumping the lock connector pins worked for me - 5 minutes of work, $0 spent, alarm reset, car started Originally Posted by sc250tt
