Smoke side markers ??
Truly disliking the orange sidemarker against my dark green car, I used tint spray and a top coat of some good clear to smoke my sidemarkers. It was the first step in the conversion to almost fully black out my SC.
As for finding them available for retail, you will not be able. But, pulling the sidemarkers and smoking them is a matter of a couple screws and an afternoon of spray painting: no biggie. Total cost for my smoked sidemarker job was ~$8.
Here are a couple shots (a close up and then one from a short distance):

I believe it is not legal if you do not have yellow sidemarkers on your car. All cars in America should have them. I used a vinyl overlay, which I feel looks oem.
The catch is, it is a lot more difficult to do than spraying it. I had to wetsand the lettering on the side of the markers, then stretch the vinyl over using a heat-gun. Took me a while, as there is a certain touch you learn over time (I don't really have it).
When the light is turned on, the yellow shines through. The best part about it, is that if you ever do get pulled over for it, you can remove the overlay easily.

technically speaking, no it is not legal because the vehicle code requires that an amber reflector be present on the front of the car and/or a red reflector on the rear of the car. however, cops tend to just look for the amber color when the lights are on so i have raybrigs RC83 in there so cops don't hassle me for that. as for the daytime, they could but don't. i think the main thing on their mind is the color it lights up.
