Would you happen to have their contact number? I'd be interested in speaking with them, I've been looking for a H/T. I'm here in Illinois

I agree with that, i mean i bought mine so i could have a comfortable luxury sports car after i swap it..

I just couldn't imagine buying one and using it for road racing or turning into a track car, seems like something else would be much easier to start with..

I've heard the same referred to as a "slick top", since the top of the car is smooth.

When I was looking, I never saw an SC with no moon-roof, but did come across at least one (?1992 SC300?) with factory cloth.

Has anyone made a list of the rare (included or excluded) options?

If the car would have been a non- trac. control car it would have been even better. It did have leather int.The owner was not available to get a phone # at the time.

I didnt know some Lexus came w/out moon roofs and with cloth interior for a while. one night at work, I parked my car next a green SC just like mine, with out a moon roof and cloth interior. it looked odd... but it seems like it would make sense to have one if your gonna gut it and race it out.

I wanted to bump this thread, so if there really is no hardtop 400s available, it will make me feel better about mine having one.

I've seen 2 400's without moonroofs that have come through for service here in Oxnard...a DWP one and a Garnet one...They didn't have rear spoilers either.
I thought the non-moonroof cars were rare, but it seems like I see more and more of them. Of course, they both had leather. I have yet to see a 400 with cloth and no moonroof.

I'll be honest, I HATE having a sunroof. I burn REALLY easy, so I don't even bother opening the shade. I'm like that guy from Powder . I'm not that tall, but my hair touches the ceiling in the SC unless I lean the chair back substantially. I very rarely open it, I'm a windows up, sweat yourself to death type; only use the A/C if the girlfriend is in the car. Why am I driving a Lexus?

Oh well, I'll get over it.

Grats on the find! Buy eeeeet!

personally I think the sunroof makes the car looks sexier!!! I never open mines all the way, but I always drive with it tilted up....

Dude not to mention its not a "me too car"..."Hey what car do you drive?".. "HOnda Civic", "Oh me too". I love the fact I can go almost anywhere and not have to worry about my car being missing when I come back. I had a 92 Civic EG.. It was nice but I never went to the Mall, Movies, or Clubs in that car. The new owner of my EG only had the car for 2 weeks and it was gone... stolen from his house in broad daylight.

Funny you mention that.. I saw one when I was a porter/valet in service about 6yrs ago. I thought the guy put SC400 emblems on it so it looked more expensive but it was a real 400, Cloth interior, no spoiler, no sunroof... I thought it was crap why have a Lexus and not have any of that, one thing though the car was not from Florida I think the tag read "Nevada or Arizona". The guy was the original owner and back then it only had 26,000miles on it, it was Black onyx with Taupe interior.

I also came across a few bare-bones RX330's/350's and ES300's. They had cloth,no HID's, no moonroofs, no seat memory...they're out there...
