Default Exhaust Comparison:

Wondering if anyone has a similar exhaust setup to my planned setup, and can pitch in performance/sound results.

I am going to go all motor first, so I want to try and create my exhaust right the first time, and make minor adjustments to it when I boost my Sc. I am going all motor to keep me satisfied while I piece together all my goodies for my kit.

I purchased the MVP Header (XERD), one 3" into two 2.5" Flowmaster Y Pipe, two 3" Flowmaster resonators from Cherplex, and 2 Magnaflow 14829's. They are 2.5" inlet, with a 4" tip. I like the way they look, and I had them on my RX-7 before we put in an LS1.

For the all motor setup, I was thinking about running a 3" pipe from the header all the way back to where the natural Y would be in the stock exhaust, put one Resonator, Y it using the Y Pipe and go into the mufflers. I wanted to keep the same setup for the turbo, and if it gets too loud for my taste, I can Y off the 3' pipe, add a resonator on each side (I have 2) and from there go into the mufflers.

Does anyone have a similar setup, or can logically give me a or with reasons why this isn't a good idea? Any input would be appreciated, thank you very much.

If you're going to go boost there's no point buying headers, you're going to get rid of them anyway. I've got an old school Trust SP muffler on my Soarer (cat. back, 3" with just two rear mufflers... no resonators) and although it's louder than stock it's not annoying and droney or overly throaty. The turbo(s) should quieten it down a little bit so keep that in mind.

I purchased the header already, to keep me satisfied while I wait to finish my BL kit. Thanks for the advice though.

Same, so I'll bump it up and see if anyone chimes in. Most of the stuff I see people using are N1 style cans and such, haven't seen much feedback from Magnaflows lately.
