Hey Clublexus,

I am in need of a new radiator, and did some searching on here. I am between two choices.

1)A generic radiator from Radiatorbarn It says "All metal, which I know is better, but it doesn't say it is aluminum.

2)Koyo Plastic top and bottom, but the core is an aluminum core. Trusted brand that many people are using.

They are the same price, but I do not know which one to get. If anyone has experience from either, please let me know. If the Radiatorbarn one is all aluminum, I will buy it. Don't know if it is....
I am kind of stuck whether to buy a name brand one or a no-name. They are the same price. I am not going to be pushing major horsepower anytime soon, so I just want something that will produce as close to OEM cooling & reliability as possible. I also do not want to get a Supra one and modify it.

What are your guys' opinions....

 

ive used koyo radiators for my 240s... they are great, im not so sure about radiatorbarn tho... i would check out feedbacks on ebay

 

i used a koyo for my 240 as well, with a pretty high HP sr20. it helped ALOT with cooling. it kept my engine sooo cold.

is your car an automatic? because if so you're going to need an aftermarket oil cooler like the one greddy offers

 

im using radiatorbarn radiator on my sc400..

its FULL metal which is a +1..
all black.. soo i guess-1? since u want that SILVER radiator :P

but ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS with it so far.. works great.. 100 bucks or so.. FAST shipping.. great bargain

Koyo will be a perfect fit. The radiatorbarn one is 'almost' perfect fit. Just need some very very minor mod to fit it. I'm using a Koyo by the way.

 

is the radiobarn one a CSF?

 

The one I ordered from radiatorbarn was a CSF brand.

 

I recently had to replace my radiator. The stock one cracked on the top plastic while driving I was driving. My friends shop got me a CSF. The fitment wasen't perfect but it cost less than the koyo and it was all metal. Good price overall

 

Just ran across this thread - my radiator recently cracked so I'm now in need of a new one. Anyone buy their radiator online? I'm not sure where to start looking. Any recommendations would be helpful.

I'd rather order it myself and have my mechanic friend install it. Suggestions?

EDIT: Ordered one from radiator barn. The one they have listed for the SC300 (2JZ-GE) is all aluminum for about $180, plus one they don't have listed for $140 that's plastic with an aluminum core like the OEM one. So far so good. Did have to re-use one of the old plugs from the original radiator though.

Get the Koyo Bro, if your going to use the Supra Koyo Radiator then you will have to make these to bring it up a Bit. I made these rubber risers for mine.

Im running the koyo race core. The cooling is rediculous, too cold in fact. My car never goes over 1/4 temp with the ac blasting in 80* weather. i got mine for 300 shipped off of ebay.

 

hey evileagle. do you remember the seller? cause i cant find a koyo big radiator(52mm) for less than 380 shipped. oh yea. im looking for a supra radiator though.
