Angry Rollin JDM Tight now...

JDM Tight...

So my friend and I are on our way back from Austin, TX coming back to NE, and while I was resting (friend was driving) he went to switch lanes, and as he looked back to check his blind spot, he hit the corner of a wood palette that had apparently fallen off of a truck. Both tires were flat, so we put on a spare while my friend went to buy a can of fix-a-flat (At least we were in Oklahoma City instead of the middle of nowhere.) I get the rim off and see that the actual rim is bent pretty badly. Further investigation revealed two very badly bent rims, and since it was 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon, it took a while to find a place where I could get a used rim and tire just to make it home on. I guess I'm calling the insurance company on Monday b/c I sure can't afford two new AC 20's. I'm not sure what the insurance will do though b/c the rims are discontinued...? Anyway, here are some pictures...

gl. the city/county/etc isnt responsible.

it would be kinda dumb to make an insurance claim as well, since both wheels can be fixed for about $250

Any idea about how much I'd be lookin at? There aren't any good, well.. any kind of car shops here in Omaha. There's a wheel restoration shop that quoted me $250/wheel just to refinish them a while back. I thought that was a bit pricey.

It is not that bad, man.

I remember back in 2006, there was a CL member who got his Zauber Gettin bent REALLY BAD.

However, he got it fixed for around $260.

Here's the thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...+wheels&page=3

-----

PS: The cost was actually $180, but since he was in NY, he had to ship the wheel to Cali to get it fixed and the grand total was like $260. (Read post#36).

you should be able to at least talk to someone who works for the city about it, i have heard of city's paying for damages in situations like this and with pot holes. It's worth a shot... just a phone call.

a) friend driving

c) out of town

Nah that's not that bad. There are a two pretty good wheel shops here in Dallas. Wheel Technologies and Wheels America. Yeah, I know you're gonna have to ship out your wheels but better than buying new. They usually do most repairs for a flat fee of $125 but you pay shipping both ways unless you can drop off/pick up locally.
