A BFI is all stock piping.
all u have to do is. cut the front of the intake box. or make numerous holes.
search for it.

The BFI is fine if you don't want to spend too much cash, but ditching the crappy stock piping, with all of those bends and ribbing is a great way to get a bit more airflow and less restriction. Putting the filter down low actually gets you cold air, and because the pipe is longer, you get a better band of midrange torque. Lastly, the longer pipe helps the nitrous atomize more evenly through the intake charge.

That was a long time ago, car looks different now, but you get the idea.

yeeeah, about having the airfilter down there...not gonna chance that in case of rain. =P so cutting the box open gives more HP then? cuz in another thread they were talking about how the stock airbox was better then any aftermarket one out there.

and what kind of pipe did u use in replace of the stock one?

Peace out

Yeah i pretty much have the same intake design on my 400. I could see rain being a problem in hawaii, but in CA you can get away with this. I've also driven in the rain with it and it had absolutley no affect on the motor nor did the filter even get wet. on the other hand If you were to drive through a puddle you'd surely be fcuked, but it never rains long enough here to have any. He's also right about the midrange power. you dont just feel it when you hear that high pitched noise at 6k. its now more like 4k

do the BFI with the air duct mod and the plastic box that you make to keep the hot air out...if you do it right, its alot more than just cutting holes in your airbox >.<

I know it's not quite what your looking for, but this is my reccomendation.

Old pic, the MAF is gone, replaced with a bypass/blow off valve.

It's not a kit.

The "fish" bracket from Lextreme. Used Vortech V-9 (counter clockwise rotation) bought off ebay. Figured out everything else along the way.

Here's a newer pic. Check my sig link for more info, don't want to hijack this thread.
