Stock Stereo ?
I have replaced my stock stereo with an aftermarket unit. I had the standard Pioneer system. I removed the tape/tuner unit out of the center console. The odd thing is is that I have noticed my climate control doesnt work right. It seems like it has been since I removed the radio. I know that they are right next to each other, but other than that I see no correlation between the two. By not working right I mean that the fans are either on FULL heat or they are on MAX cold. If I have the setting on anything other than MAX cold it spits heat. Like it practically melts my face off heat. Plus the sensor must not be working right because it doesnt change the settings with varying temperatures. Plus the AC doesnt really work, it is just kind of cold. This could just be because the car is getting old though (1993). Has anyone else experienced this or anthing like this? I am just missing something silly? You guys are the only ones I have to turn to. Please help, its driving me nuts!
I recall there a couple of Earth connections (black cables with round connections) bolted to the hi-fi mounting frame, if they are not re-attached to a good earth it could upset the Air-Con controls.
Or possibly you have dislodged one of the plugs from the rear of the Air-Con unit or the control switch.

I would expect the plugs on the back of the ac console are not seated. This problem occured on a install I did with a 400 coupe, we had to remove it again, plugged in and voila....
