Default Car worth

Hey guys,

Quick question for you. Like I posted earlier, i rolled my 95 SC300. Now I'm I gotta get a car pretty quick. So I talked to a dealer the other day to buy a new 08 Honda Civic...i know i know, but it's temporary and I got a long commute to work, so i need the milage. Anyways, he said he'll give me 1500 for the SC without even looking at it.

The SC has been upgraded to 97+ body style.

The damage is mainly to one side and the roof. One of the fenders is really smashed in, and everything else is just dents here and there. The roof has some big dents around the moonroof.

Do you think I should trade it in for 1500 or can I get more for it? I was thinking of taking off the front bumper and sideskirts and selling those off seperatly, since he's going to take it without looking.

What do you think? The car runs good. No damage to the panels or frame or engine. What else could I take off to sell seperatly?

Thanks!

George

I would do it because I really don't see anyone buying a rolled SC other then for being a parts car.

Parting it out may get you more money, but it could take a while, not sure how fast you need the dough.

I'm actually sitting here conteplating wheather I should try to take the 97 parts off, because the front bumper removal is quite the ordeal i guess....

How hard is it to take all those parts off?

I still can not imagine rolling a car and not bending any pillars, IMO the cars toast.

Since its just 1500 dollars, I would keep the car buy the civic and slowly part it out. You'll make more money in the end assuming the interior is nice, motor tranny is sound, etc etc. All depends on how lazy you are i guess.

are you it rolled? or a tree didnt fall on it? I dont see how the car rolled and the pilers didnt get crushed or at least shifted

well, i was flying into an exit ramp, and when i realized how sharp it was, i cranked the wheel and i was drifting, then it flipped on the roof and skid on the roof...if that makes any sense...maybe the pillers have shifted, Im not sure, but they look fine...

That explanation is a bit odd, hard to imagine drift then flip... you must have hit something to initiate the roll
Again, 3,500 lbs vs. 6 skinny pillars, they are for sure bent. Those pillars wont even be able to hold if it was placed upside down with a crane, since you were "flying into an exit ramp" you need to take into account the acceleration + gravity + weight of car.
