Hey people,
Many of you know (I would assume), that I am in the market for an SC300...
The one that I found is a 1993 SC300 with 62,000 miles on it. The dealership is asking $9,995.
It has EVERY option (power everything, leather, roof, heated seats, traction control, 12-disk CD changer, integrated phone), except the upgraded stereo.
It's in great shape, there's some small scratches on the hood and trunk lid, but not much else. There is a small tear in the driver's seat (how do I repair?), and a small crack on the passenger's side trim by the window.
The dealership does not have any records for it. I went to a Lexus dealership yesterday, and they said that they only had records of it being serviced at a Lexus dealership up till 30,000miles.
I will have the dealership take it to AAA soon, just to see what's wrong with it (hopefully nothing).
Anyway, what other service should have been done between 30k and 60k, or is it pretty maintence-free during this period?
I know I will need the 60k service soon, I don't want to have it done at a dealership though, because that's $1100.
If you could please let me know what to look out for, and any maintence issues that I should be aware of.
Also, if someone can get a carfax somewhere for me, the VIN is: JT8JZ31C8P0016234 .
Thanks!
Ryan P.

man thats a good find. I bougt mine SC300 from the dealer about 6wks ago. Its also 93 but with 100k miles on it. Dealer priced at $9998 but I bargain til $8650. Same option plus premium sound. I was kind of suprised that they went that low because this was local lex dealer. Used car market is in a shi*er so I think you can bargain. With that price dealer put on brand new tire, inside detailing work worth about $200, replace front and real brake pads. In all total labor and parts came to about $1100. This was done to put the car in a saleable condition on the used lex lot. Plus they had to pass the emission test. I think I've gotten pretty good deal. The car had 6 pages worth history, previous owner serviced at the same lex dealer so I was lucky on that. I would definitely check with Car fax and make sure nothing fishy comes up. For 93 that's pretty low milage. If you could take it out for few hours I would get a second opinon from the mechanic. Good luck.
