trying to figure out what the power ect does on the automatic cars i dont have a manual so i dont knwo what it does

search =] haha lots of treads discussing the ECT..

i believe it stands for.. Electronically controleld Transmission or yea..


it basically.. lets u run the gears longer so u can ride the power band thus "accelerating" faster. also downshifting is more sensitive.. meaning lets say on the freeway.. Crusing at 65.. u wanna go 80.. u gas it.. normally with ECT off u wont downsihft but with ect on itll down shift a gear.. n blah..

Changes the shift points on the transmission. Holds some gears a bit longer.
