Default Waterpump question

I'm doing my timing belt change soon and was informed by my dad that my waterpump shouldn't be as tight as it is, but he hasn't felt how one is supposed to be on the sc400 before. Just wondering how tight is the waterpump on the v8 supposed to be?

What do you mean by how tight? Are you asking about how much torque to the bolts?

by tight i mean, it takes more force than other cars to manually turn the waterpump from the drive belt area, with the drive belt off.

Its alot of work. Plan on 4-5 hours on this. Make sure you get Original Timing belt. We had few members using after market timing belt and they had alot of trouble with it. Dont waste your time with aftermarket belt. Trust me.... We have few tutorials on this and perhaps they will help. Timing Belt Tutorials and other Tech articles Good luck.
