Are those the XS Power wastegates? They look identical to the one I have, if so it makes me feel even better about that purchase.

What size turbos are those? A/R?

How will the transmission hold up to the power? Good luck
Love your ride... and have seen your videos... The turbo of choice would be Garrett GT35R BB, but the price is just too much for my budget, so I consulted with Blast Performance and they recommend the next best thing. They are Garrett T04S 60-1 with .48 A/R. With small turbine and large wastegate will help get rid of exhaust restriction. Initially I purchase the same turbo from JVG Motorsports and they never send it to me. Robbed my money. So if you guys are looking to purchase parts, stay away from them. They are just a bunch of immature kids running the show.

Anyway, for an average setup I think pair TO4E would be more then enough. The reason I choose .48 A/R is because I want good lower end and responsiveness along with hugh power at high end.

Here is some update:
I just recieve a set of MLS gaskets courtesy of Cometic Gasket. I also upgraded the head studs from 10mm to 7/16" (almost same size as 11mm).. The below pictures say it all.

Nice choice for a turbo. The .48AR isn't gona be laggy at all.. but since you've got 4.7 liters and 8 cylinders pushing those bad boys, you'll have a pretty sweet top end pull too

Cometic head gasket- nice choice. That's who I bought my 2.5mm head gasket from to lower my compression too.

Awersome work !

Man, an N/A 4.7 with big valves and a mildly reworked camshaft would be gnarly enough to brag on-- Nice work on all of this-- it's a lot of work but totally worth it in the end-- if there was really an end.....

Here is a little update. Got the heads back last week and took few days off with my family and back to work the day I got home. Here is my progress:

Ported heads, bigger valves, stronger springs and Lextreme Stage II cams:

7/16" ARP Studs, Cometic head gaskets:

The car was dropped off yesterday and the engine is officially out and parts are being transfer to the new 4.7 Liter longblock. The engine should be able to fire up by tomorrow afternoon, but I might not have videos until Monday. Here is the engine being taken out.

Getting closer and getting nervous too. It is the first SC400 with a Tundra block.

Hey Scott,

I am loosing sleep over this also. It has been a long journey and it not going to end anytime soon.

After the engine fire up and run properly without issues then I will convert to electric fans, relocate the alternator and delete the AC. After that is done and no major errors, then twin turbo installation.
