Hey,

For you guys who have painted your lower rubber spoiler, or know about it I have a couples Q's.

1) Does it look good up close? From the pics of the painted lower spoilers in the gallery it does, but I cant really tell, I mean can you tell the difference between the metal and the rubber after you paint it?

2) How much was it to have it painted? Also did you just have your lex dealership do it?

Thanx

Jason

Re: painting lower spoiler
im getting mine done by the end of this week i'll let you know how it looks, but mine is going to be taken off the 93 bumper and on a new 2000 one they have to cut it and make it fit so hopefully it works, but i'll try to post or send you pics

I think one of the issues with painting the black lower spoiler is the matter of when (not if) you nose up to a parking stopper or parking curb and scrape the paint off of the spoiler. That is something to consider. I suggest arming yourself with a spray can of touch up paint. There seems to be no solution to this that does not have a durabiltiy downside. I am thinking about getting just the front spoiler kit from Kaminari (yes they do just sell it that way). The same issue is there for that as well.

I guess we just have to be really EXTRA careful once it is on and painted.

just dont do it
its like when you get ur car lowered and put a body kit on it
you just dont pull up to them ... you be sure to to give yourself room and not hit it

even if it means parking with five feet of ur back end stiking out

Yes, that is the only way, you just have to be really extra careful and hope that anyone else who could get behind the wheel is aware of the situation.....

That said, it appears to me it would still be just a matter of time...
sadly.

It depends how good your painter can match the paint. Make sure you have alot of flex agent added. That way, a year from when you get it panted you dont have to worry about your paint cracking off. I am happy with the looks of mine It makes the front end look larger and lower. Go for it!!!!!

My car is black so it kinda matches

I wouldnt get it painted, many of those little parking cement thingies are sometimes high enough to scrape my bumper and your going to be repainting it or touching it up often. I dont think it would look at good since it is usually hard to match up touch up paint to the paint from a shop (even if it is the same paint is doesnt look the same).
