Default Aod-e (4r70w)

Hey guys, I just posted this over at Lextreme, but I'm trying to get more opinions, so let's see what you guys think.

I know that there are people who look at the 4L80E tranny as one of the only auto trannies that should be swapped into a 2JZ or 1UZ powered vehicle to be a four-speed replacement for the four-speed that's in there. In you compare the ratios, however, the 4L80E has a 2.48 first gear, which may be harder for some modded 1UZs to pull through well. The 4L80E also has a .75 fourth gear which makes for closer gears up top, yes, but it also raises your cruising RPMs. That's something I see as a huge downside.

Now, to get to the point. The AOD-E has the exact same ratios as the A340E and can be built to withstand much more power. Also, AFAIK, the AOD-E is also lighter than the 4L80E. This would seem to me to be the perfect tranny to swap into a 1UZ powered vehicle to replace the A340E. Here's the question. Does anyone make an adapter plate or bellhousing to make this possible? If they do, what torque converter would have to be used?

Currently looking for info on this as well. Have a 302 powered ranger and have a spare 1uz sitting behind my gs400. 302 is starting to give issues and I think the 1uz would replace it pretty nicely . Looking fo any info on mating the 4r70w to it
