Well I ordered a new spark plug wire from lexus and picked it up today. I installed it and it did not change the idle speed. The car still shakes. So I decided that I would also replace the spark plug in case it got fouled from the gas and no spark. If that doesn't fix the idle problem then I guess its onto the caps and rotors next. After that I'm out of ideas...

Update: I went for a drive and the idle seems too low. I still get the engine shakes. I don't know if the ecu would re-learn the idle speed after a few days of driving it. Looks like its going to be caps and rotors next.

Can I just tighten the throttle cable up some until I have the correct idle speed? (Until I get the problem figured out and repaired.)

My car recently started to exhibit the same problem. I can feel a slight vibration at a stop. However, it's an intermittent problem, and I haven't pinned it down as to when it does it. Does yours vibrate all the time?

i have a slight vibration and low idle too but i think its my IACV but not sure yet. You can also try turning up you idle if you want there is a small 8mm nut and screw on top of the TB ur gonna need a hex tip to turn the screw, loosn the nut and then turn screw right for idle up and left for idle down i had to do this when I changed my tps

Man, my car is exhibiting this same problem. I have a 1JZ motor, and I only changed the spark plugs a while back. It didn't started until the hot 90 degrees weather. Someone told me it was due to the heat making the rubber on the motor mounts softer, but I am not buying it because it feels like my engine is going to die out when I am stopping or in park. I would have to put my car in neutral and rev it up when I am stopped in order for it to stop shaking so hard.

I also noticed that if I let it shake for a while, the dash/gauge lights would flicker? Could this be my alternator or battery perhaps? I am not sure if I am having the exact same problem, but I just want the shaking to go away.

Does anybody have any input or insight?

when my wife was driving the car, the engine died out on her and she constantly had to keep revving the motor so it wouldnt die, found out the intake fell off because i didnt tighten it after i did the tuneup and the maf wasnt reading the correct air ... i dont know if it was shaking because i wasnt driving.

and if your lights are flickering, might be corroded terminals on your battery. check them and make sure they are tight, just my suggestion.

Thanx man, it seems like there's so many things that can cause this symptom. Vacuum lines, spark plugs being bad, ignition wires, corroded terminal, MAF sensor error, ect.
