Default 550cc Injector Upgrade

What is needed to accompany an injector upgrade from the oem 2jz-gte 550's to ~750cc injectors??

I'd like to retain my existing fuel rail using Venom 720cc direct fit side feed drop in injectors, anyone used them?

Will my existing S-SAFC2 handle it or do I need the MAP-ECU or similar ?

EDIT: Venom injectors aren't worth a ****, glad I asked, seems obvious now.

Ugh.. Venom's. I would get rid of those as fast as possible they are junk, There is a thread on supraforums about them the search is back there so you should be able to find it. I had a friend blow his motor because of this.

i agree, venom injectors are ghetto... i see you got a nice setup, go with at least Power Enterprise injectors... and a HKS fuel rail. its worth the money.

upgrade injectors you better go with a stand alone eCU. try Stinger, it is affordable and you can find them on www.driftmotion.com.

Thanks for the warning on Venom injectors. Thats why I'm asking. I did not buy anything yet and I'll not give them any consideration based on both your comments.

Wow, search is back on SF as of yesterday, awesome, I'd thrown in the towel on seeing that again. SF search confirms everything you've said.

Venom Injector SCAM!!! Never noticed a mention in CL until now.

I think that is too much fuel for an SAFC to handle. Also, do you have a FPR?

Full bypass. Also 12v mod on Supra fuel pump.

Am I looking in the right places....~$150 per injector, plus new fuel rail ?

Purpose of upgrade is to cure lean condition that kicks in at 18 psi requiring me to compromise tune at 16 psi. For now I have no intention of running 25 psi and blowing my w58 tranny.

u don't need to upgrade ur injectors while u still have that w58...those 550cc injectors should be good up to around 600whp, far too much for the w58!

I have Precision 650cc injectors. Stock fuel rail, stock FPR, and I'm using an obd1 lower intake manifold. I'm tuning with a MAP ECU- no problems at all.

12v mod is supposed to make your fuel pump run at 12v all the time. I did it, but cant tell a difference.

I'd like to see the 2jz making 600whp on 550s. Highest I've ever seen was 550 and that was seriously pushing it from the dyno which revealed fuel starvation in the upper rpms and would also most likely lead to premature injector failure REALLY quick.

i've got the same issue w/ my car as well as it starts leaning out in the higher rpm's at 18lbs with my 525's. we did the 12v mod already but i believe that with the stock wiring, it's actually drawing less voltage in the higher rpm's so we're going to hard wire it with 10 gauge all the way back w/ a fuse. hopefully that will cure it.

Agreed. 600rwhp is about 720hp a tthe crank. It's impossible for 550cc injectors to support 720hp- especially at the stock fuel pressure. If you raise the pressure with an adjustable FPR, it may be possible to squeeze in some more horsepower.. but still- the 550's are gona be beyond maxxed out.

http://boostwerx.com/

Contact DaveH at boostwerx- shoot him an e-mail. He sells each injector for $75-80 each or so. GREAT guy, extremely helpful. That's where I got all my stuff for my NA-T, including the 650cc precision injectors.

Yeah $150 per injector is absurb. Sounds like Powerhouse/Greddy/HK$ pricing at its finest which are nothing but rebadged PTE and Nippon-Denso injectors.

Pick up a set of PTE 720s for like ~$350 or so and you're good.

alright maybe 600 was stretching it. Even 550whp though is far past the w58's threshold. Thats all i was trying to get at.
