I HATE SCOOTERS!!

So I was driving me and my dad's SC300 (with standard tranny ) going to school this morning. Was sitting in the left hand turn lane notice a cop role up behind me, ok take it easy man, so I make a perfect left hand turn signal move into the curb lane. Notice a girl waiting to cross in a marked crosswalk so I gradually slow down and stop, cop just goes through. So after having been stopped for a little bit, feel this really big hit from behind and that just nasty nasty sound, af @$^% Get out of the car and see an older guy and the remnants of a scooter on the ground, the front part of the scooter was totally trashed, could see the steering column so yeah it got JACKED UP. I call 911 and get an ambulance and the cops to roll to the scene. The guy cut up his hand pretty good, and wasn't looking so hot but he was still conscious. The cops take statements from 3 other people besides me, the girl crossing, a guy on the other side of the street who saw the entire thing, and a guy in a truck behind the scooter, all oh whom said I had a controlled stop, was stopped, scooter ran into me. The SC took some damage hopefully isn't too bad. The bumper at least is going to need a repaint as Honda red plus lexus grey sucks. I'm going to check to see if he crimped up the exhaust as he hit just about even with the left muffler. I don't think he could have jacked up the frame but I'll have the body shop take a look as that would suck something awful. Anything else I should check for btw? So yeah I'm just pissed right now, SCOOTERS SUCK!

how big is the scooter? right now im picturing those L shaped ones where you use yer legs to control...but I highly doubt they can deal that much damage lol.

This kinda looks like the scooter that did the damage though the one that hit me was already kinda beat up:


The hood and rear quarter panel have some dents and scratches in them both, checked the exhaust system and it seemed to look fine.

 

I'd pick up another bumper from aliga.

 

The girl was nice but nothing to cause an accident over oh wait maybe she was....

 

Dude that sucks man. Where do you go to school at?

 

Better a scooter tahn something else though. Sorry to hear your story. Just remember that there is one less of those annoying scooter people on the road, even if it took your SC to teach the lesson.

well whenever I've needed something for my car he's had it, you can find stuff cheaper sometimes if you wait and keep a close eye out but if it's something you need ASAP you can't really go wrong with him or R&J.
