Well, tommorow I plan on putting my front emblem on my car.
my question is, since i want to get it right the first time i want to know how many inches from the high beams do i center my emblem since i dont have a guide and looking at pics i would basically have to guess. so i was wondering if anyone knew how much space so i can measure. also i have 3M tape and 3M plastic emblem and trim adhesive which should i use? thanks a lot.

 

If you give the measurement between the inside edge of the highbeams and the width of the emblem then I can do a quick calculation for you.

 

I measured 10-3/4" from the center of the left high beam edge/body panel line to the start of the left side of the emblem. I will measure top, bottom, etc., too, if you need.

 

You should def. use the 3m tape. put some adhesive promoter on the back of the emblem and stick the tape on. then cut it out with an exacto knife. when you go to put it on you just have to peel the film off the other side of the tape.

 

In the store I go to, there are two different kinds of 3m mounting tape. One is red and is "heavy duty" and the other is white and green and not as strong. I got the stronger one. Has anyone tried that kind? Is it better or worse?

 

I always use the red that is about 1/2 inch wide. by like 1/8 inch thick. good luck. the hardest part is cutting it out.
