Default heater control valve ?

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...t=heater+sc300

Aside from what this thread has taught me and OLT . I went out and pushed the arm up and in and the air got instantly hot, but how do I tell if its the valve thats bad or something else, my car has the same issue. **** turned to hot and all i get is cool air. how can i tell if the valve is the problem? the wierd thing is , sometimes my heat works but 70% of the time it doesn't.

Eww stay away from "red" coolent, I've saw wayy to many problems with it. It starts to clump up. Maybe your blend door is going bad? IF you set it to heat and its still cool then the door isn't moving over to go across the heater core?

Ya you can use any coolant you want basically, just make sure you do a complete flush.

I had a problem with this unit, the metal actuator detached from the "tounge" of the bell shapped HCV. It could be loose for you and therefore not moving up or down (cold/hot air).

I'm going to get a second person to help me tonight. Its wierd because my heater worked great today. so I was like wth. maybe my cord is kinked from years of use. It is a utah car so i'm sure that heat-cold dial has been turned more than a vietnamese hooker.

I actually made a quick fix by reinserting the actuator into the tounge, then topped it off with a tight washer to keep it in place. What do you mean by your "cord" is kinked? which part of the HCV is the cord?

well the cord that is attached to the lever, it runs into your car via the firewall and attaches to a servo . Which from there either moves in or out with the turn of the dial.

well i tested it and the arm doesn't go up or down when i was playing with the ****. Is there a chance that the servo unit on the hvac itself isn't turning at all when i turn my dial? whats the best way to find that out?
