okay are our cars supposed to stop filling after a half tank? im like freaking out because idk if i need to go back to the pump and get the other half of the tank..none of my cars do this

 

nope.. im pretty sure that no sc`s stopp filling at half a tank... im pretty sure theyre supposed to stop when they have about 18 gallons in the tank or a little under.

 

I believe we have a 21 gallon tank. I've filled up 20.xx gallons before

because i went tog et gas and the handle clicked, like normal, but th needle went to half...i'll see how much i put in when i go back to the station

maybe your floater is messed up

 

sounds like your floater, i agree with ryan. when i got my sc i only got 12 gallons in the tank. i drove it till it was almost empty and then i kept a 1 gallon gas conatainer filled with gas i just filled it up with that and took it to the gas station and put 20 gallons in it.

 

dam thats crazy... is that for all sc`s or just the 97+ ... because mine fully stops at about 18 .. ive tried to put more but it just over spills... and when i turn on the car.. the needle is passed full...

 

All years had the same tank, SC4 and SC3. 20.6 gallon capacity. Needle always goes past F on a full tank, and the needle will fall well below E before you actually run out of gas.

 

man, i always thought i was pushing it by putting in around 17.5 gallons... lol

i know though that when i fill up it does take a few minutes for the needle to go all the way back up to show full even though im done filling up and driving already....

 

there is a trick

its called pulling back the nozzle so there is no back pressure and keep filling up, until it will click again

well i filled up..18 gallons even musta just been me imagining things :S strange eh? hahaha
