Hawk HPS = Squeeky?
I have some Hawk HPS in use with brand new Supra calipers and OEM Toyota blank rotors. I get a lot of squeeling from what sounds like the front. The rear brakes (which I also changed at the same time) are fully OEM.
I just want to know the experience of other people who have used HPS in combo with their Supra brakes. My buddy said Hawks with his Camaro squeeled like hell but my other buddy with a DSM made no noise.

I have hawk pads in the front in my stock caliper, and what happened to me was the shims actually moved down and every time I pressed the pedal they would rub the rotor, the glued just F'ed up and I ended up removing it and using break adhesive. After that I have had no real problems except for the occasional squeak when the car coming to a stop.
You'd think that a company like hawk would get the shims right, but they move and come out of place, if i go with hawks again i will remove all the sims and just use break adhesive.
i also have slotted rotors BTW

the squeaks are from the pad mating with brake disc. It's the property of that material of the pad. Grease behind pad doesn't do anything. It's telling you the brakes are working. Go watch an on-board WRC video or British Touring Car Championship, they have metallic pads, they squeak every time when brakes are applied.
metallic substrate pads will squeak. there is no way around it other than not braking.
Personally, I am a fan of the ceramic pads for their quiet operation, dust resistance, and rotor life enhancement characteristics. But, performance is definitely superior with a good metal substrate.

I have them on my WRX, my buddy has them on his VW Jetta, and his boss has them on his C5 Vette and they all squeak. I'm actually getting tired of the noise, but they just stop so damn well, it's hard to justify changing them.
