Default a dreaded bushings question..

I have a 92 sc300. I hear a loud clunk when i switch into reverse or when i turn sharp to the right, bushings are obviously toast. Car wanders on the freeway **** what Sc300 doesn't. but seriously which Daizens do I get and what problems should I expect. Will I need a press? or I've heard a torch is handy. Also with Ball joints is that a whole new control arm then? thnx fo any help

I have the same problem, and its a combination of dead LCA bushings and balljoints. I have some Supra LCAs on the way to replace the entire deal. I'll see how much that improves the situation.

i dont have an sc but i had a 2nd gen gs. you do not need a torch if you have a good press. mine was pressed out and pressed in. after the work was done i replaced the ball joints and got an alignment. everything felt much more firm after all the work was done. i would say it was worth the work.

how much do you think it will run you to get new bushings installed?

i had all the daizen bushings done recently. its most definitely worth it. ride quality suffers over bumps, but driving on the freeway feels infinitely better than what it was before.

UT,

You really want to check the prices on the SupraTT LCA vs rebuilding yours or having a shop do it. I would go with Toy Supra parts and a stiffer rubber that the Supra gives you. The plastic is needed for racing but I have found it harsh for around town.

IMHO,

John
