rims with paint
hey guys! i just bought these sc400 wheels but the person who had it before me painted it yellow/gold, not sure if it was a cheap spray can paint, but how would i got about getting it off???
ps. the 18's on the sc now is going on the LS400,,hehehe

DONT use paint thinner. All you'll make, is a mess. Go to walmart (automotive section, not paint), or the parts store, and look for "aircraft paint remover". Its made be Kleen Strip. Blue and white can.
Spray that on them. The paint will wrinkle right up,...spray them off w/ the hose. Done.

Where only two of the rims painted gold, on a red sc? I saw an sc like that for sale a while back. But airraft paint remover is a MESS, it works though, but be prepared for a big mess, especially if the wheels have a lot of intricate spots. It might take a few tries to get it all off. Personally I would just paint over, if the old paint is still on there good. You might actually strip the oem coating on the wheeels in some places, leavign a spotty look. More hassle then it's worth.
