air conditioner/heat problem
hey, has anyone had this problem before... my ac/heat display looks like its burning out on the left side. i think that there is light behind it thats burnt out or something along those lines. well any help will be good. thanks guys
if its burning out on just the left side, it's probably you can just replace the bulb...but i think it requires soldering skill. Mine is right side, it's all dark. I just got the bulb, part number for the bulb is 83119-24490(not sure if it's right so make sure with other members).
I'll work on it during new year holiday.
If I screw it up, I'll just get new display since it's kinda leaking on the bottom too
if yours is leaking, I heard it's not fixable.
but I found this site, http://www.algonet.se/~frenchie/cx/CXdisplay.html
, it's talking about how to fix LCD problem but I'm not sure if our LCD is same.
here is other link which might help:

Ok, just got a call from the Lexus dealer. RED93SC400 is in the shop having the new front Tokico struts installed, the lombar checked, the headlights' alignment checked and an estimate on the wavey front end black rubber spoiler given.
They also looked into the dark area of the heater/air conditioner display. They just called to say that the unit has no replaceable bulbs, they are soldered in and permanent. The fix for this is a new heater/air conditioner display..... $500 for the 1992 and 1993 unit.
I told her that the one dark area does not bother me that much to spend $500 on it. She agreeed.
To replace the front wavey black lower front air spoiler is $450 which includes labor to remove, install and take out a small dent in the lower bumper cover.
They also priced out an estimate for the replacement of the 1993 front bumper cover with a 1998 bumper cover.... This is a real shocker.... It includes new cover, padding, new turning lights, new grill and attach kits. Priming, painting and clearcoating.
This price is $1700.
So that is what I found out. I guess if the dark area bothers you enough you could solder in a new bulb.
