You need TWO six ohm or ONE 12 ohm resistor PER SIDE, wired in parallel with the factory wiring harness as you note. It's not clear from your comment if you did this.

Hmmh. Sure you stripped back the correct wires? I did the wrong ones at first.

I think OLT is on the right track, if someone has the circuit specs for the car I might be able to help

there's really only 1 green/yellow and 1 black/white wire there so no, I did strip the right wire. Does 12 gauge wire matter if I used that? I'm going to take a picture tomorrow when I have time.

Just a thought - you have apparently wired in the resistors correctly, but is the actual indicator bulb blown?

One more suggestion; remove the resistors and take a two of your OLD indicator bulbs and holders and wire them both in parallel with the newer wiring harness. In effect you have now duplicated the older tail bulb configuration using the newer enclosure. If all three lights (the one in the enclosure and the two you have wired in) flash at the right frequency, then your wiring is fine and there may be a problem with the resistor. If they don't, then you may have cut into the harness incorrectly.

Apologies to chan55 for plagarising his original drawing

All good... So you rather have two extra bulbs lighting up the trunk? Up to you man... haha

You know what... I wired up one side with 2 6 ohm and it stopped the fast blink, and then wired up the otherside with 1 12 ohm and the fast blink was still there... I didn't feel like figuring it out so I removed everything and now have fast blink. Looks kind of like this guy's eyes:

Nope, I have the resistors hidden in a ventilated aluminium box stuck behind the carpet. I was suggesting that to TROUBLESHOOT the problem that he could try this approach.

However, I do know of some people that have done that !

Ha! I was trying to get an OEM 92-94 taillight harness for my 97 tails just to get rid of the hyperblink.

I'd rather go that route instead of taking off the indicator light on the cluster.

So, if I do this adding bulb method, I assume the green/yellow wire is positive and black/white is negative?

These connections aren't polarity sensitive, so it doesn't matter. Just wire 'em up...

I tried this adding-bulb method and it is still hypeblinking.
