Steering should only be shaky if your front end needs rebuilding-- Otherwise maybe it's the driver-- Or maybe the tires are out of balance/round --

Since when did the driver cause it to be shakey???? Not sure I've heard that one before.

All I meant was at 140+ its not silky smooth like at 80 or 90. I'm sure anybody else can vouch for that too.

Your bushings may be old and worn-- or the alignment settings could be off-- or the tires may not be well balanced for high speed runs--

All those are factors that may cause what you're talking about-- not to mention worn struts--

They should be silky smooth when they're off the showroom floor-- and the only thing that will change are the things I mentioned--

Supra's are supposed to be rock solid well past 170-- I can't imagine an SC having problems with 150--

New LCA and Upper Bushings, Daizen. New Steering rack bushings, new KYB Struts. Tires are probalby the only thing that could be off a little. Alignment causes tire wear, not vibrations. I wasn't saying it was like driving a 92 honda at 150.

My comment was only meant to mean that you have to keep your attention going that fast, its not a walk in the park. Probably aslo has a LOT to do with the condition of the interstate you're on. Cement vs asphault, patches, etc.

Are you saying your car is as silky smooth at 150 as it is at 60 or 90???

Here's a pic on the way up there, I had 2 hands on the wheel by the time it was 140-145

Props for the pix , I know I don't have the ***** to try that, I'm scared to peel my eyes off the road at those speeds, not to mention one hand.

I've only been to ~125mph, on the straights of Thunderhill Raceway, it was still accelerating but I ran out of both track and mojo, this being pre-2jzgte swap. Seems like I can get to 125 on a long on ramp now. Don't know top speed yet, mojo and CHP issues.

I've not pushed my SC to that level -- I don't want to until it's boosted either, as it's a lot of strain due to the time it takes to reach those speeds-- With boost you're there much quicker--

Alignment CAN cause vibration as uneven wear like scalloping even on a small level can translate into vibration at such high speeds--

And you're darn right-- you DO have to pay attention at that speed!!

Seriously, I'd love to see how a showroom perfect car with 1500 miles on it performs at 150mph and go from there-- I'd be willing to bet they're rock solid--

Surface does make a huge difference--

I got it up to almost 150, and it felt pretty smooth. My motor mounts are bad and I'd imagine the rest of my suspension isn't in the best condition, though the car rides like a dream.

My car DEFINITELY doesnt run out of breath anywhere close to 110--

I know that just by the way it pulls to 90--

I need to pull the frame a bit before I try opening her up-- most likely with about 8psi from a pair of GT28RS turbo's (Nissan Garrett "disco potato's") -- Those should help it pull to 150 pretty quick-- If one can pull 400whp out of a nearly identical bore/stroke SR20DE and spool quickly from 2.0L, two should work like majik-- You can snag two for $800~ in great/new condition on SR20forums.com pretty often-- or g20.net --
