Since fuel is again going up in price, I thought I would post a question that I've been wondering for a while.

what does the 1jz get for MPG?

best I've recorded with the 1uz is 26.7 or so, all fwy with no ac.

best numbers I've see for a 2jz 6 speed supra about 32 or so.

 

well my 2jz(GE) gets around 17-18 in the city, im not sure about the highway

 

the BEST that ive gotten for the 1uzfe was 17.6 mpg

normally around 16?

 

Wow, I don't drive the **** out of my car but I still get on it from time to time, and I always see 20-22 mixed hwy/city in day to day, with the 26.7 being on a cruise to wendover (little ****ty town right on the boarder of ut/nv where you can gamble).

I tried to look this info up, the only thing I could find with a google search was about 1l/9km which worked out to something around 20mpg on the fwy if I did my math right.

 

haha i think my 1j is pretty good but if you have a led food your DONE... haha id like to say im getting at least 20ish in the city...

 

93 1uzfe, 185kmiles, 19ish city, 27 or better highway... mostly has to do with driving style though...

I try to be as smooth as possible both braking and accelerating...

 

1j,I've gotten 29 on hwy and city is like 18 or so

 

on a 2JZ-GE, i think the highest i've gotten was probably 22 all around. now i'm getting about 19 for both city and hwy.

 

My best on my 97 SC400 is 26MPG 1/4 city 3/4 hwy, with AC on.

My best on NA Supra was 21MPG mostly hwy.

 

Sup Everyone, don't also the injectors determine the gas mileage? I have a 1j and I'm considering upgrading to 550cc injectors, anyone have these injectors and use their car as a daily driver?

my 1j get about 12 mpg on the highway(v8 rear end sukks on the highway) and like 14 city.

 

what kind of RPM are you pulling at, say, 60 mph cruise?


just to add to this thread a little, I got 25 mpg from Vegas to Los Angeles with some a/c use and cruising 80-90 mph...

I got less than 20 on the freeways around LA tho...

 

How are you people getting these 27mpg in the 1UZ!??! The best i EVER had was near 21MPG mixed. Now on average it runs from 18-19.

on my most recent trip, I could have gotten well above the 25mpg that I did, but because of time constraints, I decided to cruise a little faster than normal...

Down around 65 mph, I've clocked 27+ mpg, even through mildly hilly terrain... I try not to use A/C if I can, and keep the windows rolled up, use the "vent" function with a cracked open sunroof... creates nice airflow through the car that at highway speeds keeps it nice and comfy unless it's really hot outside...

this last trip to LA was 25 mpg from Vegas to Victorville (only 200 miles, still had more than half a tank left, but wanted to fill up before tackling LA traffic)
At any rate, that was severely hilly terrain, starting out around 2700 ft above sea level, getting down to around 1000', then up to 4300', then ending up around 2900' (many elevation changes) - started out with no A/C, just vent, but as the day got hotter we used the a/c a little (once these cars get cool, it doesn't take much to keep them cool)... We averaged 85 mph once on the highway, which, again, was good for 25 mpg... our cars are more efficient around 60 mph... cruise control is ok for getting "good" gas mileage, but a well tuned right foot is the best... taking things like traffic into consideration (you get better mileage following a pack of cars) really helps, and of course driving smoothly enough to never need to use the brakes helps too...

there was a Top Gear episode (I think, might have been another similar show) that gives some good tips on getting good gas mileage - that guy in particular went 800 miles on a single tank of diesel in an Audi twin turbo something... I'll look for the link...

 

I've seen that Top Gear. Towards the end he said that the car was running on nothing.

As for DRIVER wise in my car. I usually pamper the car around town. That is why I don't understand why I get these 18 or so MPG. The car also runs fine.
