u want a 5 or 6 speed AUTO?

If you have an sc400 you can try to get ahold of a 98-00 sc400, the 98-00 sc400's have a 5spd automatic.

I am all about doing the newest, coolest thing... but I think what you want may be extremely difficult...

you'll need a newer trans, and, looking at the wiring diagram, potentially a newer PCM/ECU that works both with your current engine and also a newer trans, not to mention somehow re-wiring your trans shift selector to include an extra gear...

can it be done - sure... should it be done - why not... will it be hard - extremely... especially being that I've never even heard of anyone wanting to do this swap, so I would be willing to bet that me looking at wiring diagrams is the most thought put into it ever...

any particular reason you want a 5 speed auto trans? straight line racing, even a 3 speed works just fine, and you definitely don't want an auto for road course stuff... just get a higher stall converter - and you will be in the power band all the time

Are you serious? You want an auto when there is both a 5 spd manual and a 6 spd manual that bolt directly to your car????

unless road racing, i prefer a nice auto trans with a stall...

better for drag racing, better for cruising...

Just can't do it-- I want the car to do exactly what I want when I want it to--

Automatic transmissions take the purity out of a sports car-- (This is probably why MOST real sports cars and exotics are standard equipped with a manual transmission)

possibly...

have you ever driven a built auto trans with a shift kit and a good sized stall...

if not, please find someones car to borrow that has this, as it will open your eyes to a whole different outlook on auto trans cars...

with it done properly, it will be like a whole different car...
