Default Yes I Know....Another Management Thread

Well I've narrowed it down to the MAP ECU or MAP ECU 2. I'm not sure if I'll need the ignition control. So many seem to be running happily on the original MAP ECU that I don't know if I should go with #2. I want to clear this up fast so I can purchase what I need.

Any and all input needed. I need this install to go smooth so the downtime is kept to a minimum.

Running 8-12lbs of boost, 550 injectors, single turbo 1jzgte. Currently tune on SAFC makeing 425whp @ 8lbs.

There is no way your 1jz @ 8psi is making 425whp. My 2jzgte with a similar size turbo makes no where near that @ 8psi. You can also clearly see there is a boost spike or something causing the jump in power at the end of the dyno run.

The more i think about it, isn't that 99navette's dyno. Here is his thread. The image of the dyno sheet is no longer there but if you read through his thread, you can see that there is discussion about the spike at the end of the dyno. 99navette was also running 23psi...far from the claimed 8psi to make 425rwhp.

Also in this post, you claim "Conservative tune on SAFC leaving me with 478rwhp & 400tq" . Did you know that it is physically impossible for a gt35r to flow enough air @ 8psi on a stock 1jz to make over 400whp?

i just purchased map-ecu2. its not going to be installed for a while. but its alos got alot more options than the first one. you can set up 2step and i belive you can fine tune it better. also go inputs for more 02's. it also has the eletronic boost controler option.. i bought that cuz its only 50 bux more and i don have to run a boost controler. saves me from having to clutter up my car

I'm going off of information that Anthony told me. I'm finding him to not be the most loyal seller from what I've seen lately. Sorry guys

I would go with the Map 2 ecu. Unless your getting the MAP ecu for a crazy good deal, go with the map 2. even though there will be a lot of features you may not use, it will still be better to have them and not need them, than eventually need them and not have them.

I dont know who wouldnt want to adjust timing, its an effective way to squeeze out more power, as long a your careful.

Ahh that makes sense now. I though we might have another jibby on our hands . If you don't know who he is, he is or use to be on here and claimed XXX hp out of his naaazzzz sc400 then try to back it up with a nsx dyno sheet LOL.

Wouldn't makeing the adjustments via the cam gears work just as well as the MAP ECU 2's Feature?

I have found a MAP ECU for 400 shipped.

Where should I purchase the MAP ECU from? I know powerhouse has them but there is no "shopping cart" type setup on their web page. I then looked at their "dealers" and none of them seem to have their product on their site.

Map ECU 2 may still have bugs to work out it's not proven yet. However it does seem like it should be the $h***
