As well, my shop has a streetable, 9.87 second, 568whp Civic. It is possible, just not too widespread. Expand your horizons...

O.k. some small things, then...

Best upgrades (Bang for the Buck)

1. Tires/wheels
2. Supra TT Brakes
3. Eibach springs / AGX shock combo

Mods that will get you around 20 extra hp combined:

1. intake
2. exhaust
3. Apexi S-AFC

You're not going to get much extra hp out of this engine without forced air induction. It already breathes pretty well. I think the main limiting factor is the very polite cam profile to keep it idling smooth. Unfortunately there are no known camshaft upgrades. You could do some porting, but there aren't many gains there either. You probably can't pull the cats because of the noise and or pollution.

I doubt a 9 second streetable Civic. We're talking different definitions of streetable here

Driving a tubbed out and stripped slick up front and skinnies in the rear with no air pressure in the front tires, and running race gas only, that kind of car is NOT streetable.

Granted I don't think its too easy to run any streetable car into the 9s. Gets really hard. What kind of transmission is that 9 second Civic running? What CR is it running? How much boost?

If you can't or don't drive your car to the track because of certain reasons, its not streetable. Sorry guys

Just having a license tag doesn't make your car a streetable car.

I've never seen your car MattT3T4, it may be what I call a street car. I'm just going against calling a 9second Civic a street car

I know what you mean about crazy cars. There are a lot of rednecks around here with some REALLY fast stuff. Guy around that has a primer Grey Fiero with a Syclone's 4.3L Turbo V6 in it... runs low 6s in the 1/8th

not trying to educate you; i was just saying the stuff in case you didn't know... most DON'T as I'm sure you know

Mmmm....Syclone. I'm looking at a Typhoon right now. Found one for only 11k, I'm waitin for Ikon to see if he has CarFax still. I used to have a fiero with a chevy v8 (350 stroked to 383) and I'm looking for a nice twin turbo kit to put on a V8 in my current one.

Somebody else here has/had a fiero with an engine swap too. They're mad fast cars!!

The car is none of the above. It rides on the street on 16x7 Kosei wheels, all interior except rear seats and panels, sound system, etc...It DOES have Lexan windows, and a carbon fiber hood to lighten it, but it is streetable. Simply because a car runs on 118 octane and 26psi on the track does not mean it has to run like that on the street. It's street version is a tame, 1.0 bar street car. It has a stock GSR transmission, and runs 9.0:1 CR I think...I'm really not sure about the CR. Anyway, stock Honda transmissions are EXTREMELY strong. 99.9% of the 9-10 second Hondas have stock transmissions, with an added LSD of course, but the stockers hold up extremely well to harsh beatings. So, of course, it is not in 9 second form on the street, but who cares, it is still a 9 second car that is streetable, and if one wanted to, they could easily take it to race spec, and go on the street...

Also, my car is a different car, the one I am talking about is the shop car, and I think I posted a picture of it. I am on vacation right now, but when I get home, I will post a picture of my old Civic. Mine was a white coupe, bronze rims, and a carbon fiber hood...and a big *** FMIC. Besides that, it was a total sleeper that ran low 12's on street tires w/ 92 octane and low boost. The car was good for 11's in the form I had it, and 10's with aftermarket engine management, so I do know a thing or two about fast cars too, just a different breed. But now I am sick of FF's, so I want to mess with Lexy a little bit, but keep it very tame.

Also, SC300Turbo, I will e-mail you when I come up with some questions...like I said, I am on vacation, and I am trying to distance myself from the everyday hustle and bustle of Los Angeles...unless you had something you wanted to mention to me, go ahead and hit me up at MatT3T4@aol.com

Peace
