Hi there,

Does anyone know if Lexus cars are all pre-wired for every option regardless if the car was sold with/without a particular option, kind of like what Ford does?

My car doesnt have heated seats, and I desperatly want them, so im hoping that maybe all the wiring is already there and the heating elements are in the seats, so maybe the car would just need modification to get them working.

Thanks for any help!

No, the elements are not there but the harness should be. I don't know for certain as my coupes all had the heated seats.

Has anyone installed a combo heating/massaging seats into their car?

I need new seats soon and I was kinda thinking of playing that route if at all possible.

I suppose worst case scenario you would have to run a new circut to run one or the other.

Dunno just toying w/ that idea right now.

Yea massaging chairs like the ones in the rear of the LS would be really nice but the heated seats turns warm and toasty really quickly on my LX so I'm fine

Also SC400brent Welcome to CL!

A dealer near my house has 2 1995 sc400's. One has Traction-Control and Heated-Seats, the other doesnt have either. So think it was an option. I have no idea if the elements are already in the seats, but I wouldnt think so.

Yeah, I dunno why a manufacturer would install the elements and just sell it as unheated seats.

If that was true, this is the scenario I see:

Customer: But I REALLY want heated seats! Dont you have any cars on the lot that have them already?

Dealer: Well no. But, I can install them for just a nominal fee of $850.

Customer: WELLLLL... OK I gues I can live with that.

Meanwhile... guys in the shop spend 2 1/2 minutes connecting 2 plugs together.

Dealer: well, it took us 3 days, but shes all set, enjoy!

SUCKERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
