Smooth8 How do you?
How did you know that the radiator pump went bad? and
How did you rebuild it?
My radiator fan is making noise. Drain the fluild twice and the noise is less now. I just want to make sure everything work before winter. I don't want to mess with the engine when it is too cold out side

Thanks

The hydraulic fan pump and motor is a big pain in the ****.
The pump that is on the engine for the fan has a solenoid that opens and closes letting in hydraulic fluid and sometimes goes bad. My problem was inside the pump itself. The dealer wanted $1000 for it so I bought a used one for about $350 and it worked fine. I can probably get another one if you need it. First have someone check to see if the fluid is flowing freely when it is supossed to. The fan also has a motor which spins the blade when the fluid goes through it and can get clogged.
Anyways let me know how it goes.

Another thing:
If winter is coming, make sure the fan blade is not cracked or the part that attaches to the motor is not stripped, this could cause problems.
Yokohama makes the hydraulic lines and the hardly ever go bad, so not to worry about those.

Or you could remove the entire assembly, and put two electric fans on it for like $60.
It'll stay cooler and give you more power... You just gotta figure out what to do with the hydraulic fluid pump. I would think you could just drain the pump, and then unplug it so it would never run.

After I pull the hose out at the pump inlet twice to let the fluid out and refill it after. The fan is making less noise. I'll will keep an eye on it.
Thanks
