Red face Really big noob question(big pic)

Hey guys what is this thing that I circled in black?


I dont own a SC yet but just wondering what is that? I'm thinking some crazy cup holder? Can someone tell me I'm going nuts trying to figure out.

Its for a cupholder. But don't bother getting it, as the design is not that great and ends up spilling your drink.

i guess since i'm in the same book as greekpower, is the oem stereo a pain or is fairly easy to go aftermarket? i don't need anything fancy, i just want something a lil over stock.

StevoVIII- From what I've read its not hard to change headunits, but it won't look to good being the stock radio is 2.5 DIN.

hass- No I am not a member there.

so far, this car is the biggest pain in the *** ive had with a stereo system. Granted, I'm **** retentive, and I did a few other things, but all in all, i spent about 20 hours installing my stereo equipment (fabricating new front door baffles, modifying rear baffles, wiring, and all that other stuff) and the bass piping from the trunk to the cabin is horrible. It sounds alot better than what it used to, but I still have alot of work to go..

Durr care to explain? I read that DIY to installing in a sc coupe and it didnt seem to difficult. What all did you add speaker wise?
