Default climate control lcd

hi, the a/c control head display in my 92 sc is bleeding. i have a control head out of my 96 sc3 which i wrecked, the only problem with the 96 unit is, it wont control fan speed. im wondering if you can unsolder the bad lcd and swap it with the good lcd. i already tried just swapping the "brain" and screen portion, 96 screen & controls with the 92 brain, and it did not work. i'd rather not unsolder the 40+ pins on the lcd unless i have to. any info would be great, thanks oh ya, i already searched the lls forum and could not find any information on what i would like to do.

You should be able to stick the 96 face on the 92 brain. The pinouts are the same according to my schematic, but I've never done it.

If it doesn't work though, might as well get to desoldering. It isn't fun!

well im an idot. yes you can switch the 92 brain and the 96 face. me being a jackass forgot to reconnect all of the connectors on the big white plastic connector carrier underneath the radio. all functions work including fan control, and the little beep that you hear when you press a button on the control head. hooray now i can see my controls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default Same

I need to do the same thing. I can only see about 1/4 of my screen. Is it pretty easy to replace it?
