I just traded for a 97 SC300 with a 2JZ-GTE swap. The intercooler pipe on the cold side (drivers side) is way to low. I scrub everywhere and it actually has a hole in it. So I might as well not even have turbo's. Anyway how do you run it so it's not so low? Can someone give me some pics of how theres is ran or a link to pics of one? Also it is a JDM engine and has the JDM ECU I was told that this is why my tach doesn't work. Can someone give me a link to show how to fix this? The guy I got the car from said I just needed to add a resister, but I have no idea where to add it or what size. Thanks in advance for all you help.

 

Grab a MSD tach adapter. They're under $30.

As for the I/C piping it sounds like you need to find a fabrication shop that can make you a new pipe that fits better. I wouldn't be driving it around with that hole in the piping.

 

I am not driving it no more than I have to. I was just wanting to see how the best way to route the pipes would be. Where can I get an MSD tach adaper? Does anyone have a part number?

It's hard to say the best way to route the piping as differnt cars have different set-ups. Such as intercooler used, intercooler location, bumper used, etc...

A shop that is skilled in making intercooler piping should have no problem finding out the best way to route the piping. Obviously whoever built the piping that's on it now wasn't so skilled. If they were it wouldn't be getting holes in it from dragging on the ground.

dont need a tach adapter jus bypass the R109 resistor in the back of the cluster (behind the rpm) as for the piping mines is the same way as yours ,my car is not lowered so im not scraping when i install my suspension this weekend hopefully i wont have those problems

 

Like lexusboy94 said take the cluster out and bypass the resistor I had to do this with the 1J swap. As far as the intercooler piping I routed mine where the battery was located instead of that 90 straight down. Replace the pipe and get some good couplers and T bolt clamps.

I have a spare tach adapter too, but like lexusboy said you dont need it if you got some diy skills, thats why i have a spare one cuz I dit the mod before it got to my door and dont need it. its not that hard but if you decide to go the tach adapter route PM me
