Im still sure that a 7MGTE in the A70 will still beat the 2JZGE in the A70. It wouldnt be apples to oranges either. They are both RWD luxo yachts with similar weights. What the SC300 was doing in 92, the MA71 was doing in '87...

Oh, and to add, I am by NO means knocking the JZ. They are great motors.

And nobody answer the question
I just got a W58 off of an 7M-GE supra
So I know the bellhousing it's different but what about
The clutch and the fly wheel
Not everyone in this forum have lots of money like spend on
New clutch kits and fly wheels and "call it a day"
Just want to be 5 speed don't care if the W58 it's weak
I won't drift it or race it

the question has already been answered. you need a flywheel that matches the engine, so the 7m flywheel is no good for using on a 2jz without modification most consider unsafe. about the only thing you could reuse is maybe just the clutch if the diameter is correct, but why would you get all the rest of the parts and use an old 7mge clutch.

If you don't have money to spend on new clutch kits and flywheels, get a used flywheel and have it resurfaced and get a used clutch kit.... for a 2jzge.

7M W58 parts are not plug and play to the 1 or 2 J platforms as stated in previous posts the engine predicts the flywheel then the trans predicts the clutch also the latter version (newer) W 58's clutch assemblies are more compliant with the JZ platforms as they are different FW configurations.

Why are you beating a dead horse when your particular application is basically an OE configuration readily available in the market. (regarding the clutch and FW)

Also just to set the record straight the 7M was never the predecessor to the J platform, the J platform was never available in the MA70 (3rd gen Supra) as known in the USA and As a JZA70 in the land of the rising sun the 7M was available in Japan but not the norm, also there was a G motor also available in the 3rd gen Supra better known as a 1GG 2liter 6 cyl twin turbo. All the J motors have heads designed by Yamaha as well as the 1GG and the 3S.
The M motors ended in 92 and was a less then stellar design in virtually all aspects, many have spent several$$$$ to make it a more competent motor with relative success but unless your pockets are deep and you are very inclined, the majority went to the very stout and forgiving J platforms to spend the $$$ for reliability.

Buy sc300 flywheel for w58, don't redrill a 7m one to fit. And yes clutch for 7m/w58 is same clutch as 2jz/w58. Also with the amount of responses from you the info could've been found with the same effort in searching. Also, lol@7m. I even have a sticker on my taillight that says so.
