I'm not sure how much they actually help, but make sure you've still got the little breather tubes on the back of the headlight housings. Mine headlights go dull if I haven't taken much care of them for a while but when I first cleaned them out (just the exterior) they were sparkling. I'd do the inside to but I'm too chicken to pull them apart in case I screw it up (my headlights don't leak at all). These weren't done with a buffer either (I don't have one) and were done without taking the headlights out. I would like to get to the projectors however and give them a good scrub.

Before...

... and after.

Black silicone + ice cube before its dry. It will make the silicone look smooth.
Toyota sell those black gasket sealer (I think that would work too, I used that to fix moonroof rubber seal.

seal them with the same product professionals use to seal new windshields. That clear silicone crap will definitely fail in short time.

I also spray my headlights with a product called "Brillianize" once or twice a week to keep them fresh looking

Default headlight fix

Guys,

I did a pair of non lexus lights that were so bad that light wouldn't come through. I used wet and dry 400 grit till I had removed the top plastic layer. I think it is the "hard" coat. I then used 600 grit to remove the 400 grit scratches. I finally buffed it with Nu Finish non wax polish. Amazing difference and there was light at night. These things were opaque and way beyond anything we have here.

Polishing the lenses certainly makes a big difference, but I find that mine tend to oxidize pretty quickly. And to me they never look really sparkling like the lenses on the newer models. It seems that the new lenses are designed differently than our old lenses. Maybe it's just me ...
